Baby and Me Sign Language is Tuesdays in March from 9:30-10:30am. Want to help your baby or toddler communicate? Come to Baby Play on Tuesdays in the month of March to learn some sign language. Kristin Brummels will be available from 9:30-10:30am to teach signs along with an interpreter, Katrina Watton. Bring your baby and/or toddler and have some fun with signing.

Please provide advance notice if you want to bring a large group to a Story Time. Always alert staff to any food allergies before allowing children to participate in the programs. When Papillion/LaVista Schools are closed due to inclement weather, programming will not be held.

The Open Writer’s Room will be available as a quiet place for writers to work March 10th & March 24th from 6-8pm.
The Forever Young Book Club, a book club for adults who enjoy young adult literature, kicks off March 18th at 7pm! We will discuss our first selection Code Name Verity. It is a historical novel about the friendship of two young British women during WWII. One is a spy captured by the Nazis in German-occupied France and the other is the pilot who flew her there. Extra copies of the book can be picked up at the library front desk.

Learn how to make a difference for the children in your community by attending a informational session with representatives from Children’s Square U.S.A., Nebraska Children’s Home Society, and Project Harmony on March 25th at 7pm. This is the perfect opportunity for those considering adopting, becoming a foster parent, volunteering, or donating to have their questions answered. Refreshments provided.

The Papillion Library Foundation will host “Wine and Sign – Look to the Future” on April 25th at Sump Memorial Library from 7-10 pm. This event will feature local Nebraska authors along with a silent auction of donated items including autographed books. Wine and refreshments will be provided. Dance music starts at 8pm with Blues Agent. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 a couple and are available at the library front desk or from a Foundation board member. Papillion Library Foundation board members are Harlan Metschke, Bob Frederick, and Jim Berg, Rebecca Crofoot, Marian Fricke and Matt Miller. Only 200 tickets will be sold so get yours today! Brown Baggers meets every 3rd Wednesday at 12:00pm in Meeting Room 50.
For March, the brown baggers will each bring a book they have read recently to discuss. Feel free to drop by and share a book you recently enjoyed. The group will then choose the book for April.
Bonding With Bindings meets every 2nd Thursday at 7:00pm in Meeting Room 50.
Club Knit meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. (Beginners and experienced knitters get together to knit.)
